Welcome
About Us
The Northern Lights Film Festival, based in the vibrant city of Oslo, is a celebration of cinematic excellence, creativity, and cultural diversity. Named after the breathtaking natural phenomenon, our festival embodies the magic, beauty, and mystery of the Aurora Borealis, bringing together filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across the globe.
Since its inception three years ago, the Northern Lights Film Festival has become a cornerstone of Oslo's cultural scene, offering a unique platform for both emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their work. Our festival is dedicated to exploring the frontiers of storytelling, with a special focus on films that reflect the rich traditions and contemporary realities of the Nordic region. However, our reach is truly global, featuring a diverse range of genres, perspectives, and voices from every corner of the world.
Each year, we curate a dynamic program that includes thought-provoking feature films, compelling documentaries, and innovative short films. Alongside screenings, the festival hosts a variety of events such as panel discussions, workshops, and Q&A sessions with filmmakers, providing a space for dialogue, learning, and inspiration.
The Northern Lights Film Festival is more than just a series of screenings; it is a gathering of minds and hearts, a place where art meets activism, and where stories have the power to spark change. Whether you are a filmmaker, an industry professional, or a passionate cinephile, we invite you to join us in Oslo to experience the magic of cinema under the glow of the Northern Lights.
